No offense taken Mahlon. If y'all will read my post again you will see I stated there was grounds, on a legal basis, to deny pensions to the CSA vets. Its just if we can provide for everybody else why not the children orphaned by that war? A purely moral argument is all I'm making and believe me I know when one does that they seldom find anybody who agrees with them LOL!

I appreciate your input on the board. Would it surprise you to learn I'm elgible, so I've been told, for membership in the SUVCW? My 3rd great-uncle Phillip Cole served in the 1st Battalion Louisiana Cavalry Scouts (a Union unit).
