Jamie,
" am going to start a thread on this when I finish sweeping the boards"
It would be best if I stayed out of that discussion for many reasons.
For sake of this board and my friends both North and South, I made an effort to stay civil. I have fought the Nazi-Confederate battle many a time and I will say that there is absolutely no comparison at all to the two armies, the ideas or the cause fior which they fought. As of late the comparison to the Taliban and Confederates have been attempted, but that comparison disappears as soon as the first challenge is made.
Now about the comparison of Lincoln and Hitler, that can be said some some a good deal of truth behind it. Just as a number one point both invaded soverien countries. Will that one slight comparison I'll drop the subject and accept Mahlons explanation as a slip of the tongue, a bad choice of words if you will.
