You miss the point of my post. Too bad those with CSA sympathies on this board are allowed to compare Lincoln with Hitler, but you don't want to consider my analogy.

Okay. How about these two.
1) Timothy McVeigh was denied VA assistance after his bombing of the OKC federal building. He DID serve in the US military, but then "bore arms" against the Federal government, hence their actions of denying access.
2) a man here in Payne County OK waged a "personal war" against state and local law enforcement officers and against FBI agents, to the extent that when they were tracking him (hunting him down) he killed one of them. He was and his heirs were denied funds for burial and tombstone by the VA because he "bore arms" against the Federal Government (FBI was involved).

These are extreme cases, but, as I've said before, the midset of the time in the 1860s and on was that if you bnore arms against the Federal government, you could not obtain a federal pension.
