Re: An Infamous Contrivance
In Response To: Re: An Infamous Contrivance ()

I admit, I grow tired of folk/Authors/programs/organizations who go out of their way to anger/inflame folk. We need more objectivity when dealing with history.

I have come to the conclusion that no one was totally right when it came to the decision to go to war, folk on both sides clambered for it, and they got it!

I saw the same show you did some time back, and there are examples of terror enough the North and the South had to deal with. I know a book is advertised on this BB called: The Women will howl...now, is that an actual quote, or was it copied to emulate what Gen Sherman said about Georgia? Then I wonder if it was to appeal to readers on the subject of atrocities committed on Women, to boost sale of the book as a sales ploy?

I try to see both sides view points as to what happened. I can counter the original posting with some stuff that Southern soldiers did to Yanks, and their own folk, but it would be adding to the problem.
