That sure drew some strange responses. I have a friend that bought an Enfield at a gun show. This was a period piece but I can't say what he found was. After determining that the rifle was loaded with "something" he removed the breech plug to find a full powder charge and above it appeared to be a cut up lead bullet that was wrapped around a period wood screw with wire. Really strange homemade round. The guy that came up with that must have had payback on his mind. We couldn't determine or decide if this was done during or after the war.
