James, Francis Washburn's people are from the Leicester (pronounced Lester) / Worcester (pronounced Wooster) area of Mass west of Boston. Nice little town where the name of Washburn is still quite known around the area. My ancestor, Seth Washburn, was capt. of the Leicester Minute Men and gave the bloody British what for along the Boston Post Road on that first full day of action back in April 1775.
