I suppose that YOUR statement could be true for some of the states that seceded later, after the first shot was fired, I really don't know. Truth is I haven't looked to see exactly why they joined the Confederacy. That is my next project.

My position still remains the war was fought over ownership of property (Federal?) in the states that had seceded. Slavery was at best the third issue in the equation.
