Interesting comparisons, but it assumes that the marksmanship abilities of the confederate units facing the 15th Iowa were equal to the marksmanship abilities of the unit facing the 16th Iowa. That the sole deciding factor as to the amount of causalities recieved between the 15th and 16th Iowa was their stances.

The writter also stated that the Unit having the highest casualities, recieved a volley a close range. Again range is a deciding factor as to accuracy. As far as the bullet tearing his pants pocket that can only be attributed to providence, not position.
