"Doyle, if you ever find that book, please let me know. It sounds great."

Well Bryan, after shooting my mouth off about this book I have been trying every search I could think off to try and find that site. Well Eureka!!!!

The main site address is: www.archive.org.

My search query was: http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=Richmond%20AND%20collection%3Aamericana&page=2

The book is entitled:

Southern history of the war. Official reports of battles, as published by order of the Confederate Congress at Richmond (1864), New York, C. B. Richardson,

Fagan's 1st Arkansas Report of their actions at Shiloh are on pages 292-294.

You stated "With some companies having small clusters of their own -- Company E, the "Saline Guards", for example, having several men wounded at 11:00 a.m. on the April 6th."

Fagan in his report stated that this was caused by artillery fired which also wounded our "Old Friend" Capt William A. Crawford and several men of Co's "A", "E" And "F". They did not engage that enemy. But later, before noon, had a short engagement in a wheatfield with Union Infantry supported by Artillery, but the federals withdrew. The main fight occurred about noon in a thick underbrush ravine where they attacked the Federals 3 times and where Lt. Col John B Thompson was killed.

How is that for details?
