Re: A Hurricane Prayer from another time

"Originally dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Audrey in 1957"

Thanks Dennis for the prayer. The older folk around here still speak of Audrey as "The bad one".

Hey, to pull us back on topic it is recorded that on Halloween night, October 31, 1861 the 7th Mississippi, stationed at Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, lost many of its records in a storm. I would almost bet a hurricane passed over these soldiers that night. The "Old Bloody 7th", as my great-grandpa referred to it was sure a hard luck unit. They endured that storm, three train wrecks, one of horrendous magnitude and that's aside from facing the best Generals and armies the Union had.

The Army of Tennessee... many of Lee's men marched through their lines on their way home from Appomattox. And some folks wonder why I am so proud to be descended from those men :-)
