I'm not saying it wasn't but there are no records for a Tropical Storm or Hurricane on the Mississippi Gulf Coast from 1861 to 1865. 1860 saw three hurricanes hitting Mississippi, one on August 12th, another on September 15th, and the last, a major hurricane, on October 3rd, 1860.
