LOL! Frank, I guess it would be "abandoned" if its owners were runnoft or arrested. I happen to be researching the amounts of private property stolen and destroyed in one state during the war. I've been working on it five days a week for a year and a half and I'm about 1/4 done. Cotton leads the list and no, it usually was not "abandoned" since most of it was still on the owners property.
