Frank, I can't really say and in fact since those made in England and elsewhere was done under cover so to speak, it would be interesting to chase that paper trail...but as said, ships were made in England to run the blockade and even staffed by British officers "temporarily off duty". One such would be Augustus Charles Hobart-Hampden, an adventurer late of Her Majesty's navy and holder of the Victoria Cross. Hobart-Hampden used several names to spare the Royal Navy embarrassment-Hewett, Ridge, Gulick, Roberts, and even Hobart-Pasha, during a subsequent stint with the Turkish navy where he became an Admiral.
