Re: What I found today
In Response To: Re: What I found today ()

Alan, after reviewing my own McAdory files, it appears that your Jefferson County, Alabama McAdorys are unrelated to the Attala County McAdorys David discovered unless of course they have a connection further back than Thomas McAdory who was born about 1738.

The Attala County McAdorys descend from one Thomas McAdory (b. about 1738, Antrim, Ireland; d. about 1789, probably York County, SC). By copy of this Thomas' will which I have, his children by Ann (Unk.) McAdory include Ann, Elisabeth, Martha, Mary, Ann, Thomas II, Robert and James Sr (b. 1767, York County, SC, d. about 1815) who married Mary Foote. Their Alabama roots lie in Madison County, not Jefferson County

Thank you anyway, Alan for sharing what you have on the Jefferson County McAdory's

This information came to me six or seven years ago, courtesy of Tammy McAdory of SC
