If there ever was a time just right for those of Confederate ancestry to reclaim our chapter in the history textbooks it is now. We have had a couple of generations past the 1960's problems and the students now, from what I am seeing, are more open to fact, not the PC tripe. Given the political climate in this country now, even those who may not have even thought of it are now just grasping the fact that it may NOT have been all about slavery. They 'get' it. Maybe not the exact reason, but they understand the frustration with the policy makers going to the Mad Hatters Beer Summit instead of making nice to our 'friends' and even the Dali Lama in the real world. I have had a few from Northern states tell me it's not so difficult to grasp why the South wanted out. That admission by them is big. Major. They are willing to listen to another version of the story. Time to take the ball and run for the TD.
