Thanks for the correction and the insight into the cotton business. My father-in-law and his father, for many years were the owners of something named "Murdoch's International School of Cotton Grading & Stapling" in the Cotton Exchange Building in Memphis. Unfortunately, my knowledge of the industry and the nomenclature falls short. I just like the aesthetics of the cotton fields at harvest time. I also miss all of the white painted board fences. I guess the upkeep on those fences and trying to white-wash or paint them and repair rotten wood is just too expensive these days.

Good to hear from you. By the way, I may be a neighbor (within a hundred miles or so) of yours sometime after the first of the year, as my wife and I are considering relocating to South Louisiana. If you have a pool house with at least three bedrooms and two baths we'd be interested. We can't decide whether we want to immediately buy or perhaps rent for a year to get to know the area better.
