After reading the answers below and finding merit in different viewpoints, I think we're gonna have a much larger problem very soon. There are public schools that do NOT teach American history. They are NOT reading the Constitution. They are NOT reading the Bill of Rights. So, what is most important? To me, at this moment, the Constitution and it must be read by anyone registering to vote. If not, we have no union. Well,----we will be run by unions but that's a different kind of mess.
I had a little discussion with one of my stepgrands this afternoon and she's in high school. She said her teacher said he was told NOT to teach the Constitution but to just skim and get to the, wait for it, yes, Civil War!! Why the Civil War??? Guess everyone can figure that one out. (bunch of eggs scuckin &(%#*#&^@)
I'm going to dig deeper into this lack of teaching American History in American History.
