Quite simply; All official oaths of office given to all elected officials to this date have always been to preserve and protect "the Constitution of the United States". They do not swear an oath to "Preserve and protect the Union of the United States"

If the Constitution is faithfully observed, the Union will survive.

I voted the Constituion first and always.
