Yes David, I can see that you do not understand. You might try to read some history books other than the ones presented to you in public school. The Confederate Constitution was remarkably similar to the U.S. Constitution and it was not a coincidence. Neither one of them banned slavery. And if the Northern majority had agreed to abide by the U.S. Constitution, then there would not have been a secession of Southern states.

The war has been called by many names. The Yankees liked to call it the War of the Rebellion, but there was no rebellion. The Southern states left the Union and created the Confederate States of America. But, these facts are not taught in 5th grade history class.
