Re: BLOOD AND FURY - new TV Civil War 6part

George, out of I curiosity (and I have never asked anyone this question), at that time in America, was there a better process - or was the Civil War imminent.
In my lack of expertise and knowledge, I thought the Civil War was not just about slavery. My weak understanding is that the main reason for the war was about profit for the North and the industrialization of machinery, and etc. In other words that the North did not want to pay the prices for items sold by the south. Also, that slavery was secondary.

My explanation of my understanding is crude.

I am a southerner, but, by no means believe in slavery. Period.

Would there have been a healthier way to process the situation differently without having a Civil War in America? Thanks
