First of all, thank you for all of your help.

Secondly, I have his wife as being Eliza, not Mary. Sorry.

About the VRC...

According to his Co. Muster Roll, I have his being present from May - Aug, then:
absent Sept/Oct (remarks are "In camp. at Memphis, Tenn),
absent again Nov/Dec (remarks are "In Provisional [crossed out] Encampment at Nashville, Tenn),
absent Jan/Feb ("In Brig Hospital [illegible, possibly Eastport something]),
then Mar - July absent (in Gen Hospital Nashville, Tenn),
and then finally transfered to Co. C, 4th Reg. VRC in July of '65.

Are there good resources for finding out about VRC stuff?

My grandfather seems to remember a story about John W. Rodgers getting injured somehow and not being able to continue with the 6th Ill.

Thanks again for all of your insight. If you dig up anything on the microfilm, I'd love to hear about it.

John
