John,
Here's part of a pension Affidavit for Sam. Pryor, who was with John Rodgers. Samuel had pain in both kidneys beginning in 1862, and continuing until after the war. The paper is dated June 20,1880. I'll begin with Jan. 1864.

"We was ordered to Nashville Tennessee. This brings me to January 1864, and in Nashville Tennessee. Here we had Battle with Hoods Command. We were now under Gen Thomas--this engagement continued t___(dark spot on page)days. douring which time I was greatly overcome and my condition was more Serious then before owing to the Condition of our Situation and the Hurry and confusion I was neglected, and did not recieve much attention for a space of five weeks, from thence we wer Ordered to Eastport Mississippi (Here I was taken down very sick with Same disease was attended by one Agney* the Regt Sergeon for almost three months. We had no Hospital at this point, Here I was Pronounced? by the sergon to be Severly diseaded with the afflection of the Kidnys as aforesaid, this brings us to July 1865. from this point we were ordered to Montgomery Allabama. Here we went with Capt. Hese the command was Seperated and divided in Several Squauds guarding the property in the County against the Enemy. Here My disease was about the Same, did not doctr here. from Here my Squaudd was sent to Opeladie Alabama. we Remained here until Nov. from there to Selma Same State. Here our Muster Rools were Mad out and we were sent to Springfield, Illinois, where we were all Discharged. This was in Nov. 1865."

*This would have been Archibald Agnew. He lived in Southern Illinois until he died. He's buried at New Columbia, IL.

Hope this helps.
