Thanks for the heads-up! You do wonder why Magruder would send Watkins with this type of unit. I've never seen anything remotely associated with Watkins that suggests he had a background with artillery. Magruder was pretty careful with his guns. Perhaps it was some kind of reward for the Sabine action?
