In Response To: Re: Joel McKee ()

I'm in the midst of a book on Southern irregulars in the West(Mountain states). For the last few months I've been writing the chapters on NM and AZ. Now I'm turning back to finish CO.
Joel Mckee was a leader of the underground Secesh in CO in 1861. He left just ahead of the bad guys in 1861 and went to TX. He was always described as an "old frontiersman."I'm trying to find the CSA plans/efforts/connections to the Southren underground in CO during the War. The Yankees thought the mastermind of CSA clandestine war was Mckee.
It's been hard to find anything. But I've picked up a lot of valuable information from people on this (and the MO) listserve like Patty Adkins-Rochette and others, and hopefully you.
Thanks for your interest.
