I finally have a copy of the full article on the capture of the 40 confederates led by Joel McKee. In that article in The Colorado City Journal, Nov. 28, 1861, it mentions the names of the prisoners including Captain McKee. I am trying to track down each of the prisoners and at the same time wondering about the Chief Justice of the territory that will try them. The articles says of the Chief Justice "His sentences of Adler and Brown and his permission to Reed to get his wayward boy home show how he is sympathetic."

Does anyone know who Adler and Brown were and if the Reed mentioned is the same Reed in business with JL Heffiner at their saloon in Auraria?
