Re: Has anyone heard of Harris Company?

Johnny,

Thanks for the info. I don't know if (whoever gave the military
information put down Harris (as the wrong person in charge, or not).

The timeline I'm trying to pin-point is: July of 1863. Because,
it appears that my G.G.G.G.-Grandfather John H. Boon(e) had to have
fought and died sometime prior to July 13th, 1863, listed as serving
in the 7th Va. Cavalry, Harris' Co/Ashby's Cavalry). That's all I'm
aware of at this time...

And since his "widowed wife" Ruth Boon(e) filed a claim for John
H. Boon(e); dated July 13th, 1863. It makes me "assume" that this
has to be around the same timeline of his death. Give or take a few
weeks - since I was told, that it often took upto a month, to report
deaths "as they happened" to the local papers.

Thanks again, for all your time and help on this...

Rebecca Wilson
