1st Battalion Alabama Mounted Men
In Response To: Re: NS 8th (Wade's) Conf. Cav. ()

In my haste to provide information, which is often the case, I find I have made an error. The "1st Alabama Battalion of Mounted Men" was commanded by Major Solon Beall, not Brewer, and consisted of three companies, which later became Co. H, I & K of the 8th Confederate Regiment of Cavalry. Major T. S. Beall was born in Walton County, Georgia and died in Lafayette, Chambers County, Alabama on May 29, 1903.
