Dear Greg, thank you for the information in regards to my earlier question. I have been doing research on my confederate relatives for years and I think I came up with all the blood relatives I can find (87 so far). All of my research has been with Mississippi units, but now I'm starting on the step relatives. Do you know if the State of Alabama would keep records of men from the state who served in national units? I've done quite a bit of relic hunting in your part of Mississippi and have even dug some Alabama buttons here in Missouri around New Madrid and on the Tennessee side of Island No. 10.
