Blacksmiths

Although I'm not new to the world, I am new to studying the history of the CW. My Grandad in Tenn was a blacksmith and I have watched him build a wagon and make all the metal parts there in his shop. Making shoes for horses was just something that had to be done all the time and seemed to interfer with the wagon building. I thought I was a man the day I got to pump the bellows that forced air into the furnace. Opps, I'm getting away from my question…….Due to the great number of animals and equipment that needed blacksmith services where there any mobile 'shops' that traveled with the various units? This is something I have not seen mentioned but must have been necessary.
