There were Norwood families in Southern Jefferson County near the Tuscaloosa/Bibb County boundaries. Our McDougal Grandfather who lived at Bucksville had a brother in-law named Norwood. If you look on the map you will see Norwood Gap where Hwy 216 goes through Rock Mountain a few miles west of Buckville, AL (Exit 100 on I-20/59). I assume this is the route Croxton took to Tuscaloosa after the battle of Tryons (Vance).
