Re: Camp Wrightman, Washington County AR

Based on past postings, I'm sure Patricia is aware that these are Confederate soldiers rather than militiamen. All these men appear on roll with Capt. Edwin R. Hawkins "Texas Fencibles", formerly attached to the 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles.

Eventually becoming Company "A", 27th Texas Cavalry Regiment, the "Texas Fencibles" mustered at Daingerfield, TX, Aug. 13, 1861. The men were armed with "percussion lock muskets and bayonets". Gen. McCullouch reassigned this company to Whitfield's Texas Battalion in November 1861.
