Patricia, I'm not familiar with "Deen" or "Camp Deen" either. There was a Camp Dean way over in northeast Arkansas, but it was abandoned about October 1861, and no Texas troops were ever stationed there.

I don't know how legible the document is that you're looking at, but is it possible that the site is "Vann" or "Camp Vann?" In December 1861 some Texas cavalry elements were stationed there. I don't know the location, other than the fact that it was "a day's ride" from Fort Gibson.
