In Response To: Union Soldier ()

Lorilee,

I'll try and find the answers for you. Freeman Mobley would know where he would have been buried. I have heard him say where the Union soldiers were buried, but do not remember where he said. Part of me wants to say they were disinterred and moved to Little Rock after the war. I do not know of any Union burials or Confederate burials for that matter in Batesville. Most likely he died of disease though as there were no battles fought in Independence County in 1862 (in fact, there was only one in the entire war).
