It was like I said, the National Cemetery in Little Rock. If he is not there, try Memphis.
Try varations on the same name such as the surname being Woods, etc.
My late father-in-law's great grandfather was just discovered last week in a cemetery in
Savannah, Georgia under the name of L. Acra along with even a varation on his military
group. Just happened that someone else who had a relative from the same military group
realized where the man would be. So keep that in mind. Finding a Confederate with a
marked grave is almost unheard of in this area unless he died after the war so I was
shocked.
If you do not find his name, like I said, more than likely his grave is marked Unknown.
It is my understanding that the folks who would dig up graves and move the bones/remains
of the body, were not cream of the crop.
It is believed that my ggg grandfather is outside the gates of the National Cemetery in
Little Rock since he died of smallpox in the Yankee Prison that was at that time in Little
Rock.
