Since you are planning a trip, cemetary records could possibly help depending on how detailed they are especially if the give the date the remains were interred. If these are not a help, study the grave site itself, if the gravesite is depressed in any way, it indicates a body was buried there. Study the gravesite to see if the ground differs from the surrounding gravesites, that would indicate the lack of a burial. Most likely you will notice nothing different due to the cemetary being well maintained. That may seem like a long shot, but my experience in geneology tells me to never leave a stone unturned or fail to clutch at a straw.
