It could be that when they were doing the reinterring that if family contacted the govt they could get the body returned. I know of some Confederates who were repatriated after 1865 as well. It all depended on if the family had the exact location of burial and the means to move their soldier home. Also, FYI AK is Alaska, Arkansas is AR.
