Thank you. I do appreciate the information.
Of course this man lived so long ago and way before my time, but I know him.
Jerry Pearce who was wounded at Shiloh, was able to go home after being shot having bathed
his wounds at the Bloody Pond in April of 1862, took three months to heal at his father's home in
Mifflin, Tenn., met the orphan girl he would marry, left on July 4th, 1862 and walked to catch up, and
then fought all the way to North Carolina in May of 1865.
Jerry Pearce was committed to the task and did the right thing all the way. He truly left
a wonderful legacy for all of us that followed. Terrible shame that more people do not know their
own heritage.
