Thomas Cox, Captain and A. A. Q. M., 15th Texas Cavalry, appointed by Col. G. H. Sweet July 14, 1862, , relieved October 21, 1862 when assigned to Deshler's (James) Command to the fall of Arkansas Post, January 11, 1863 when assigned Acting Paymaster, J. G. Walker's Division through August 21, 1863, subsequently mentioned as Capt., A Division Paymaster, Gen. Walker's Division, signed a requisition for forage June, 1863 at Monroe, Louisiana where on June 28, 1863 he notes his residence as Batesville, Independence County, Ark., on duty at Washington, Ark. 1865
The 15th Texas Cavalry was stationed at Camp Nelson, near Austin, Ark. Sep/Oct, 1862. Not known when they vacated that location

Dept., recorded June 30, 1863 as absent, in Trans. Mississippi Dept. remaining so through April, 1864, no further records
