Thanks so much Damon and George. I was able to give my friend who is Emily Weaver's great, great granddaughter her Uncle Robert's obit and much more information on him thanks to you. She will be delighted. I just transcribed this week a letter from him to Emily just before he left from Little Rock in which he talks about the Walker-Marmaduke duel.

A little more on the family. Robert and Emily's mother Mary was the daughter of Dr. Philip P. Burton of Little Rock - an avid Confederate supporter. Mary left her husband Abram Weaver and came to Batesville in 1860. He stayed in Federal lines, and according to Emily at her treason trial in St. Louis for spying, was the "strongest kind of Union man." Four of Emily's brothers served in Confederate units. One was only fourteen.
