Re: CSA flags returned by the War Department

Ken and Micheal, thank you very much for clearing that all up.

Please feel free to correct the "War Department" "Returned Flags" anytime.

Thank you both very much for the huge help on that.

Ken I was going to ask you, do you have any books out on the market? I have heard nothing but good things about you and the research you have done. I take it your down in Louisiana?

I had a few family members that were in Louisiana regiments.

Two were in the 8th La

One in the 1st Regiment Louisiana Heavy Artillery, then he transferred to the New Orleans Guard Battery (LeGardeur's company)

One in the 3rd Louisiana Cav (Harrison's)

One in the Crescent Regiment

One in the 1st Regiment, Chasseurs a pied, Louisiana Militia.

Last name was (Pellerin), they left southern France sometime around the middle 1600's and settled in Canada near the boarder of New York. We know from the genealogy that they fought in the French and Indian war, ironically my English side (Prouty) also fought in the French and Indian war.

Ken would you know if they have out a Louisiana flag book or anything to do with La flags?

Have a good night everyone,

Shawn Prouty
