A number of men in Co. B, 2nd Ga. Bttn Sharpshooters came from the rolls of Co. G, 5th Ga. Inf., aka "The Schley Guards." This company was raised in Schley Co. and consisted of men from Schley, Sumter, Marion and Macon counties. A study of what happened after the war to the 122 officers and men of Co.
