Re: 2nd Georgia Sharpshooter Battalion
In Response To: 2nd Georgia Sharpshooters ()

Dear Melanie,
I am currently working on an indepth study of the units that Comprised the Brigade of Brigadier-general States Rights Gist, of which the 2nd Georgia Sharpshooter Battalion became a part of in July of 1864 along with another Georgia Unit the 65th Infantry Regiment. These two units served together first in Brigadier-general John King Jackson's Brigade, Walker's Division, Hardee's Corps, Army of Tennessee until the Division and the Brigade were broken up upon the Death of General Walker, at which point the Unit joined Gist's Brigade, and served with it until the wars end.
Companies A & B were from Bibb County, Georgia, Company C was from Richmond County, and Companies D & E were from Alabama. I am hoping to get to spend more time in Augusta and learn more about Company C, as I am also a Civil War Reenactor whose unit is based out of Augusta. If you could please contact me via Email I would very much appriciate it, as I would like to find out more about Mr. Hendrix, and any other member of Gist's Brigade, I am working on finding out everything I can about the men of this Brigade, and have a long list of decendents of the Brigade. I thank you for your time, and will be more than glad to pass along any other information that you would like. I remain, as always,
Your Faithful, and obedient, servant,

Kenneth H. Robison II,
