There were a lot of young Warrens in Johnson and Lafayette. and most were Guerrillas or Confederate soldiers. I think some may be getting confused with each other. James, John, Thomas Benton and Martin were common names among all of the families.

He died in Arkansas.
He may or may not have been a Guerrilla or soldier.

Faher: Anderson Warren
Mother: Sarah Jane Wilkinson
Married: Sarah Jane (Reynalds) Fletcher, widow of John Fletcher 28 Dec. 1865 in Lafayette Co.
He died 3 apr. 1908 in St. Louis.

I'm convinced that it was Anderson's sons with Poole on the Freedom Twp. raid because:
1. Provost Marshal Records mention Dave Pool, Bill Greenwood, and Martin, James and Thomas Warren together in a list of Bushwhackers.
Those three were Anderson Warren's sons.
2. Bill Greenwood was their cousin.
3. Greenwood and these Warrens lived in Freedom Township.

Jim and Tom were next door neighbors in 1870.

James died in Lafayette in 1906.
Thomas Benton died in St. Louis in 1908.
Martin Van Buren died in Phoenix AZ in 1910.

As for Lawrence, that's anybody's guess. I've never found proof that any Warren was there, but I suspect that they were.
