From what I can find, Benjamin L. Snelling and Charles V. Snelling were the sons of Benjamin Snelling. Charles was killed and Benjamin L. survived the war and moved to Oregon, he lived in the same county as my 4th great grandfather, Robert Alonzo Paxton, who said that he was captured with Charles. The Snellings and the Paxton's were neighbors.
