Thank you so much for your time and information. I'm going to order the files and see what I get, hopefully they will explain how he escaped and then was sent to Alton with the same capture date. I cannot imagine that they made a mistake adding him to the list of those sent to Alton, so somehow he was still, or back in prison. Then he was back on the roll as on leave. I will probably never know the story, but I think, thanks to you, I have a much greater understanding of circumstances.
