I know how you feel. I have several ancestors whose graves are lost somewhere in the swamps of Smith County, Mississippi. They were buried on private land instead of a church or community cemetery back in the 1850s-70s. All we have is a vague discription of the location very much like your ancestor. I do have a tip though. I found the local Mississippi farmers bureau in each county keeps a library of maps on farm property. These maps are very detailed and they mark individual graves on that property, good information to keep from plowing up unmarked graves. I was surprised on how many random graves were recorded and where the locations were. The only thing is the best way to look at these maps is to visit the local county farmers bureau in person to see which maps have those details. From a map like this I found what maybe my ancestors graves, but to get to the location I would need to cross many different property lines and miles of land with no roads. Someday I'll have to make an expedition to get back there.
