Brownsville, Mississippi is located off of Highway 22 between Edwards and Flora. It is northwest of Jackson, northeast of Vicksburg, and due north of Bolton (off of I-20). At the time, Brownsville was a thriving town with 3 cotton gins, 3 churches, a store, multiple homes, and a school. Today, there is not much left -- one church, a cemetary, and a handful of houses, two of which belong to members of my family.
