Yes, sir, when one uses a hypothetical scenario in a debate, the hypothesis must be one that is, however remotely, within the realm of possibility.

If one Googles the subject, one will find that the movement to establish an Hispanic breakaway nation in the American Southwest is a real goal advocated by certain influential Hispanic organizations, confirmed in national public opinion polls, studied by public policy think tanks, monitored by the FBI, and regularly reported in the media. So, I think it is valid to use it as a hypothetical.

To use a completely made-up hypothetical would result only in wild speculation which, while fun, contributes nothing to a serious debate.
