Martin, you certainly paint an idyllic picture of life among the noble brethren of the woods and the dell.
I remember reading many years ago about the torture murder of a British colonial officer at the hands of injuns egged on by Simon Girty. It took 2 hours to kill him, and it is good that he recevied Christ in the midst of his ordeal.
The squaws were the primary agents of his torture, and he was subjected to over 100 rifle blasts of powder only to his genitals and flesh, in addition to being scalped and having red hot coals applied to his bare skull.
A dull al-qaeda knife would have been merciful by comparison, but our native culture apparently wasn't that civilized.
