Stowing the P1853 Enfield "Tool"

I have both the NCO and private soldier version of the Enfield musket maintenance tool, both are a pretty cool tool; sorta a WBTS version of a Leatherman. What I can't figure out and haven't seen any info on, is where would a soldier carry the thing? It would be needed in battle since the jammed ball extractors are on it as well as the nipple pick, so carrying it in a knapsack wouldn't be likely. It won't fit easily in most cartridge boxes. So, carrying it in the haversack would seem most likely. Any of you re-enactors or weapons experts out there have anything authoritative on the use and stowage of the Enfield tool?
